The first Interclub event for the year was held at Rathmines Public School on Sunday 24th March, hosted by the Toronto Bridge club.  23 teams took part divided into 3 grades with Alan Bustany directing.  With the odd number of teams it was necessary to have a triangle so all were combined in one field.  Charlestown were represented by Sue McConnell, Judy Hayes, Deanna and John Stuart playing in A grade.  Rosemary Lovell and Dennis Forsythe played for Belmont and Jack Carson was in a Toronto Team.  6 rounds of 10 boards were played and the overall winners were Newcastle 2 (Colleen Wilson, Vincia and Giles Martin and Stephen Miller) who were in the B section.  A grade winners were Muswellbrook, with Charlestown 2nd and Newcastle 1 3rd.  The Toronto club lead by Hans Tiller (Convenor) did a great job in providing an excellent selection of refreshments and a very tasty lunch. Kerrie Stien was noted working behind the scenes.  Alan Bustany directed efficiently and all ran smoothly.

We all enjoyed a pleasant day of bridge and look forward to the next round at Tomaree in July (Sunday 14th), with the 3rd round to be played at Hawks Nest in October.
